She spent over twenty years working in the legal field before switching careers to become a full-time writer and consultant.
In 2018, Julia Coney, a wine and travel writer based in Washington, D.C.
led an initiative to help women of color secure scholarships to attend the inaugural women’s forum Bâtonnage in Napa Valley, California. Through her efforts, five scholarships were granted to women of color there were 320 attendees altogether.
Julia Coney is a Washington, D.C.-based wine, travel, food, and lifestyle journalist. She has written for Wine Enthusiast and Tasting Table among other publications. She is passionate about wine as a lifestyle, travel, interesting people, books and finding the elusive story of wine .
